Your Family Christmas
Welcome to Dogwood Christmas Tree Farm
We are closed for 2025 as of December 10. We will open for 2026 on November 21.
Visit us on Facebook or Instagram for daily updates.
We welcome you to hunt for your perfect tree at our 18 acre farm. Bundle up, bring your camera and walk through this Christmas wonderland. Our farm has U-Cut and farm fresh cut trees, specializing in Norway Spruce Grand Fir, Noble, and Fraser Fir.
Prepare for your farm visit:
We provide hand saws for you to use, please do not bring any chainsaws, power saws, or axes. Digging trees out of the ground is not allowed because it creates dangerous holes and also damages the tree’s root system.
After you have chosen your perfect tree warm up and take a family photo in Santa’s Hall. Our concession is back with hot chocolate and snacks on weekends only.
Please try to bring cash to pay, we do have a debit and credit machine but it is often unreliable due to our rural wifi connection.
Sorry, no pets allowed on the farm except service dogs with appropriate ID.
Our prices range from $15 to $20 per foot depending on the species. Wreathes and bows are priced individually. Wreaths start at $40 each.
Professional photographers: please call us for more information regarding photo sessions.
We reserve the right to close or open fields at our discretion to preserve trees for next year. Please obey posted signage out of respect for our farm and the need to maintain trees for next year.
Please note you are visiting Dogwood Christmas Tree Farm property at your own risk.

Our Son Cody Sawatsky
In memory of our son Cody
Cody Sawatsky was born in 1984 and grew up among the rows of trees at Dogwood Christmas Tree Farm with his parents Lynn and Gary, and brother Carson.. The farm was not just where Cody lived. It was where he learned the values that defined him: hard work, generosity, and the importance of community.
Those who knew Cody remember a young man with a kind heart, and quick wit, and a huge cheerful laugh. Whether he was helping customers find the perfect Christmas tree, lending a hand with farm chores, or simply sharing a moment with family and friends, Cody carried a warmth that made people feel welcome. Everybody who visited Dogwood remembered Cody and his amazing energy. Dogwood Farm was woven into his identity, and Cody gave back to it and to the people around him in every way he could.
Cody wasn’t just a tree farmer. Cody worked for many years at The Keg and as a life guard while he studied Interactive Arts and Technology at SFU. Cody had an amazing career as a video game designer at Electronic Arts where he worked on many famous games. Cody was married to his high school sweetheart, Laila, who worked alongside Cody and his family here at the farm.
In October 2016, Cody’s life was heartbreakingly cut short when he passed away from Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML) after battling AML for 10 months and receving a bone marrow transplant. Cody was far too young, and his loss continues to be felt deeply by everyone who loved him. Yet Cody’s spirit remains rooted in the community that raised him, and in the memories he left behind: memories of kindness, courage, and the simple joy he found in the natural world.
Today, as we support causes close to Cody’s story, including the VGH Bone Marrow Transplant Program and the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society of Canada, we honour his legacy by helping others who face the same battle. Cody’s memory inspires us to give, to fight for better outcomes, and to bring hope where it is needed most. At SFU, SIAT students can apply for a scholarship yearly in Cody’s memory.
Though he is gone, Cody’s light continues to shine in every tree grown at Dogwood Farm, in every act of generosity done in his name, and in every life touched by his story. His roots will always remain here: strong, enduring, and full of love.
